Fexostad 120

OTC

Indications

• Relief of symptoms associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria in adults and children ≥ 12 years old.

Dosage

• Adults and children aged 12 years and over: 120 mg (one tablet) once daily.

Usage

• Orally administered and taken before a meal.

• Patients with known hypersensitivity to fexofenadine hydrochloride or to any of the ingredients.
• Children under 12 years of age.

Common

• Drowsiness, fatigue, headache, insomnia, dizziness.
• Nausea, indigestion.
• Virus infection (cold, flue), dysmenorrhea, upper respiratory tract infections, itchy throat, cough, fever,
• Tympanitis,
• Sinusitis,
• Backache.

• Monitoring renal function may be useful and dosage should be selected with caution in elderly patients.
• Fexofenadine has been associated with increased QTc interval, syncope, and ventricular arrhythmia in at least one susceptible patient with preexisting cardiovascular risk.
• Patients also should be advised not to use other antihistamines or decongestants for self-medication. If nervousness, dizziness, or sleepiness occurs during therapy, patients should be advised to discontinue use of the fixed-combination preparation and consult a clinician.
• Fexostad 120 should be used during pregnancy only when the potential benefits justify the possible risks to the fetus. Fexofenadine should be used with caution in nursing women, and a decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or the drug.
• Patients should be aware of how they react to Fexostad 120 before driving or operating machinery.
