GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY FOR HORMONE – STEROID – OINTMENT FACTORY COMPLYING WITH EU-GMP AND PIC/S

On 17 March 2020, Stellapharm J.V. Co., Ltd. (the “Stella” or “Company”) and Joint Operation Contractors of Bach Khoa Group & Takenaka organized groundbreaking ceremony for its Hormone – Steroid – Ointment Factory complying with EU-GMP and PIC/S in Vietnam – Singapore Industrial Park, Thuan An City, Binh Duong Province.

This future factory, along with other key projects simultaneously implemented, aims at upgrading Stella to a higher position in ASEAN and Asian pharmaceutical industry.

Total investment is budgeted to be 350 billion VND with the timeline for operation by Q2/2021.

The factory is projected to be modern facilities, utilities… with sophisticated high containment production equipment for hormone and steroid products. Its products will include various pharmaceutical forms (tablet, film-coated tablets, capsules, ointment, suppository…).

The whole system is designed to comply with EU-GMP requirements for products containing hazardous active ingredient with the capacity of :

• 150 million units per annum for hormonal facility;
• 500 million units per annum for steroidal facility; and
• 70 million units per annum for ointment facility.

Upon completion, this will be the first steroid-hormone pharmaceutical factory in Vietnam and among a few ASEAN factories built in compliance with European Standards for this line of products.

The factory, once operational, will help Stella expand its market share of hormone and steroids drugs, provide doctors as well as patients in Vietnam more access to pharmaceutical specialties with international standards at affordable prices.

It will also help Stella to expand further its global export portfolio and turnover to achieve its internationalization objective.

By implementing this project, Stellapharm J.V. Co., Ltd. wants to reassert its pioneer role in Vietnam pharmaceutical industry.
