Indications

• Drotaverine is a smooth muscle spasmolytic medicine (colic biliary pain due to smooth muscle spasm in connection with biliary tract diseases, colic renal pain due to smooth muscle spasm in urinary tract diseases).
• As adjuvant treatment for abdomen pain or colic abdomen pain due to smooth muscle spasm of gastrointestinal origins and in gynaecological diseases (dysmenorrhea).

Dosage

• Adults: Each time 1 – 2 tablets, 3 times daily.
• Children over 6 years: Each time 1 tablet, 2 – 5 times daily.
• Children 1 – 6 years: Each time 1 tablet, 2 – 3 times daily.
• Children under 1 year: Not recommend.

Usage

Zecein 40 is administered orally.

• Known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
• Severe renal, hepatic or cardiac insufficiency (low EF syndrome).
• A-V block of II-III degree.
• Children younger than 1 year of age.

Rare

• Nausea, constipation;
• Headache, dizziness, insomnia;
• Palpitation, hypotension;
• Allergic reaction (angioedema, urticarial, rash, pruritus).

• The administration of drotaverine needs increased caution in case of low blood pressure.
• Zecein 40 contains lactose. Patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, total lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this medicine.
• Caution should be taken when prescribed Zecein 40 during pregnancy. Zecein 40 should not be recommended for prescribing in breastfeeding mothers.
• Patients should be aware of how they react to drug before driving or operating machinery. If they experience vertigo, they should avoid potentially hazardous tasks such as driving or operating machines.
