STELLAPHARM is a pioneering pharmaceutical producer in Vietnam that has striven to become a world-class drugmaker. How is the company making this dream come true?

In every step, STELLAPHARM always bears in mind that medicine is a special commodity. Every product we make is to care for people’s physical and mental health, including STELLAPHARM employees and their families. Therefore, product quality is always our top priority. The firm also focuses on investing in equipment and factories that meet European standards, and adopting standards for a green, clean and safe environment for health.

STELLAPHARM products that have been trusted and chosen by most people are drugs equivalent to original drugs and invented drugs, as proven by bioequivalence tests released by the Drug Administration of Vietnam’s website. Currently, STELLAPHARM products are not only distributed all over Vietnam but also exported to 50 countries and territories worldwide, including European countries like Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary and Sweden, and Asian markets like 10 ASEAN countries, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

On May 17, 2024, STELLAPHARM’s factory and products earned the noble title “2nd VIETNAMESE MEDICINE STAR”, awarded by the Drug Administration of Vietnam, the Ministry of Health. The journey to this title was not easy. This resulted from the dedication and tireless contributions of every member of STELLAPHARM staff. Pride spreads not only within STELLAPHARM but also to all those who have placed their trust and expectations in the company’s products.

With its strategic vision and commitment to continuous improvements, STELLAPHARM has repeatedly achieved and re-achieved EU-GMP and PIC/S GMP standard certificates from world-leading prestigious pharmaceutical authorities. Notably, the European Medicines Agency (EMA), represented by the Germany’s competent agency, the Japanese Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA), the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (Taiwan FDA) and the World Health Organization (WHO-Geneva) all certified STELLAPHARM’s production system as meeting international standards. These achievements not only affirm STELLAPHARM’s position on the global pharmaceutical map but also bring Vietnamese-branded high-quality pharmaceuticals to consumers around the world. The success of STELLAPHARM is the pride of the domestic pharmaceutical industry, demonstrating the world-class competency of Vietnamese firms.

What key tasks has the company focused on to create the best working environment for employees?

To maintain and promote a healthy and suitable working environment for pharmaceutical factories, STELLAPHARM has joined and maintained annual sustainable development assessments on CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) with four categories of criteria: Environment, Labor and Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement, certified by Ecovadis, an international sustainability agency. In the workplace, STELLAPHARM employees are always aware of protecting the work environment, conserving natural resources like using clean water and electricity economically, limiting emissions and hazardous waste, and complying with environmental regulations.

What is your perspective on the pharmaceutical market in the new period?

The pharmaceutical market is closely related to human health and quality of life. Given global economic development, population growth and population aging, the demand for drugs is increasing and the global pharmaceutical market will steadily expand. The Vietnamese healthcare industry has experienced many stages of development and obtained many outstanding achievements, but it still faced a lot of challenges such as the increase in communicable and non-communicable diseases, hospital overload, and uneven medical service quality among regions, areas and medical levels. This requires innovation as well as increased cooperation from stakeholders to ensure a sustainable future.

In the new development stage, Resolution 29-NQ/TW has become a guideline for national industrialization and modernization to 2030, with a vision to 2045. The health sector, including STELLAPHARM, takes this as a compass for globalization. We always position ourselves as a leading pharmaceutical and public healthcare brand with a focused strategy on technical innovation, product quality improvement and strict adherence to quality commitments. Our goal is not only to become a leading pharmaceutical firm but also to provide affordable premium treatment solutions to enable low- and middle-income patients to easily access effective and safe treatments regardless of where they are.
