Indications

• Symptomatic treatment of painful manifestations in esophageal-duodenal disease.

Usage

• 1 to 2 sachets, 2 to 3 times a day.

Administration

• Oral administration, after meals or at the time of attacks.

• Hypersensitivity to aluminium or products containing aluminium or to any of the excipients.

• Constipation;
• Intestinal obstruction if large doses used.

• Long-term treatment with high doses should be avoided in patients with renal impairment.
• If treatment with aluminium phosphate for 2 weeks does not reduce symptoms such as abdominal distention, heartburn, acid eructation, contact your healthcare professional.
• If constipation occurs, alternate or change to antacids containing magnesium.
• Algelstad contains sorbitol. Patients with hereditary fructose intolerance (HFI) should not take/be given this medicinal since sorbitol may cause gastrointestinal discomfort and mild laxative effect.
• Each Algelstad sachet contains 67 mg of ethanol. The amount in each sachet of this medicine is equivalent to less than 1.675 ml beer or 0.67 ml wine. The small amount of ethanol in this medicine will not have any noticeable effects.
• Algelstad is considered high in sodium. This should be particularly taken into account for those on a low salt diet.
• Use with caution in pregnant or breastfeeding women, due to the lack of exploitable clinical data. It is recommended to limit the daily dose and if possible, the duration of treatment.
• Algelstad causes no effect on ability to drive and use machines.
