Loratadine 10 mg

OTC

Indications

• The symptomatic relief of allergic conditions including rhinitis and chronic urticaria.

Dosage

• Adult and children over 12 years: 10 mg once daily.
• Children 2 – 12 years:
  Body-weight over 30 kg: 10 mg once daily.
  Body-weight under 30 kg: 5 mg once daily.

Usage

• Administered orally.

• Patients who have shown hypersensitivity or idiosyncrasy to any of the ingredients.
• Children under 2 years old.

Common

• Headache, dry mouth.

Uncommon

• Vertigo;
• Nasal dryness and sneezing;
• Conjunctivitis.

• Use with caution when prescribe Loratadine 10 mg for patients with impairment liver.
• There is risk of dry mouth, especially in elderly, with increased risk of caries. Especially, careful mouth and dental hygiene is therefore needed.
• Loratadine 10 mg contains lactose. Patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, total lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this medicine.
• Use Loratadine 10 mg only if potential benefit justifies potential risk to fetus. A decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or discontinue the drug in breastfeeding
• Patients should be aware of how they react to drug before driving or operating machinery.
