Terpin STELLA

Rx

Indications:

Symptomatic relief of nonproductive cough in adults.

Dosage:

Adults: 1-2 tablets, orally 2-3 times daily.

Usage:

Terpin STELLA is orally administered, after nutrition.

• Hypersensitivity to codeine, terpin or to any of excipients in the formulation.
• Respiratory insufficiency.
• Cough due to asthma.
• Children younger than 15 years old.
• Pregnancy and lactation.
• All paediatric patients under 18 years of age who undergo tonsillectomy and/or adenoidectomy.

Nausea, vomiting, constipation with repeated doses, dizziness, sedation, palpitation, pruritus, excessive perspiration and agitation have been reported.

• Terpin STELLA should be used with caution in patients who have undergone thoracotomies or laparotomies, since suppression of the cough reflex may lead to retention of secretions postoperatively in these patients.
• Caution is advised when using Terpin STELLA for patients with intracranial hypertension, debilitated patients.
• Tolerance and physical dependence may occur following prolonged administration.
• Codeine should be used at the lowest effective dose for the shortest period of time.
• Children with conditions associated with breathing problems should not use Terpin STELLA (e.g.: dyspnea, wheezing during sleep…).
• Patients should be warned that, Terpin STELLA may impair their ability to perform activities requiring mental alertness or physical coordinate. Patients should be aware of how they react to drug before driving or operating machinery.
