Indications

• For the symptomatic relief of pain, bowel motility disturbances, and intestinal discomfort associated with gastrointestinal dysfunction.

Dosage

• The usual dose is 1 tablet (100 mg) 3 times a day.
• In exceptional cases, the dose may be increased to 2 tablets (100 mg) 3 times a day.

Usage

• Stellbutine is administered orally.
• For adult use only.

• Hypersensitivity to trimebutine maleate or to any of the excipients of the drug.
• Although the drug is intended for use in adults, it should be noted that trimebutine is contraindicated in children.

Less common adverse effects include skin rash, but it should be noted that there have been some reports of other rare conditions of unknown frequency such as itching, urticaria, angioedema, anaphylactic shock, acute severe cutaneous syndrome (AGEP), erythema multiforme, or drug-induced rash.

• Stellbutine contains lactose as an excipient, should not be used in patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, total lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption.
• Women should not use trimebutine during pregnancy and while breastfeeding.
• There is no evidence of the drug’s effect on the ability to drive or operate machinery.
