Indications
Adults and elderly: Relief of all grades of pain and inflammation in a wide range of conditions, including:
- Arthritic conditions: Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gout,
- Acute musculo-skeletal disorders such as periarthritis (for example frozen shoulder), tendinitis, tenosynovitis, bursitis,
- Other painful conditions resulting from trauma, including fracture, low back pain, sprains, strains, dislocations, orthopaedic, dental and other minor surgery.
Dosage
- Adults: 75 – 150 mg daily, in divided doses. The recommended maximum daily dose is 150 mg.
- It is recommended that the lowest effective dosage be used in frail elderly patients or those with a low body weight and the patient should be monitored for GI bleeding during NSAID therapy.
- Patients with cardiovascular and significant cardiovascular risk factors: The lowest effective daily dose should be used and for the shortest duration possible.
Usage
- Stadlofen 50 Supp. is not to be taken by mouth, as per rectal administration only.
- Patients should insert the suppository deep into the rectum after a bowel movement. To allow the suppository to harden before use, it can be refrigerated at 4-10°C for 5-10 minutes. The medication will dissolve on its own under body temperature.
- Patients are advised to use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible duration.
